A diuretic is any medicine that raises the rate of urination.
There are some types of diuretics. All diuretics enlarge the water excretion
from the body, though every group of diuretic does this in a different way.
Lasix is the loop diuretic drug. It is used for
treating high blood pressure, edema in people with heart failure, liver or a
kidney disease and many other disorders.
Before using Lasix, talk with your doctor if you have kidney
or liver disease, lupus, gout, diabetes, or an allergic reaction to sulfa
drugs. Take the drug exactly as it was directed for you. Avoid being dehydrated.
Dont take Lasix if youre unable to urinate.
Contact your doctor at once if you have some unusual symptoms such as terrible
thirst, dry mouth, vomiting, fast or uneven heartbeat, muscles feebleness,
hearing loss, etc.
If youre pregnant or going to become a mother, call your
doctor and discuss all the risks concerning your condition.
Seek emergency help if you feel you have taken too much of the
drug.
