Prilosec is used to treat different acid gastric and gullet problems. If you suffer from firm heartburn (and try to treat this and change your diet) Prilosec can be right for you. Prilosec (Omeprazole) is used to treat different acid stomach and/or gullet problems (e.g., GERD, sore, erosive esophagitis, or Syndrome Zollinger-Ellison). When use this medication to treat the certain sore, it can be given together with determined antibiotic (e.g., clarithromycin). How Taken Prilosec is delayed-release 20mg tablets, taken daily (each 24 hours) for 14 days. You should not take it more than 14 days or repeat 14-day course more often than each 4 months unless it is directed by doctor. Do not crush, break the tablet. This reduces Prilosec work in the body. Warnings/Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, particularly: liver problem, other gastric problems (e.g., tumors), and any allergy. This medication must be used only when it is clear that you are not pregnant. Discuss the risk and advantage with your doctor. It is unknown if this medicine can pass into breast milk. Do not breast-feed when taking this medicine. Because of potential risk to infant, breast-feeding when using this medicine is not recommended. Tell to your doctor before breast-feed. Missed Dose If you miss the dose, take it when you remember. If it is nearly time for your following dose, miss the missed dose and come back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. Possible Side Effects This medication can cause diarrhoea, constipation, stomachache, sickness, gas, loss of the appetite, headache, or dizziness first several days after you started to use it. If these effects become boring, tell your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have pain, nervousness, sleepness, chest pain, unusual thirst, change of the amount of the urine or the change the vision.
