How to use the medicament
Nexium is a drug that has the function to treat gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD). The diseases appear when the hinder stream of acid provokes unpleasant feelings in the upper side of the stomach, irritation of the gastro esophageal tracks. How to take the medicament
The action of Nexium lasts a lot of time. The drugs must be used orally. Before taking do not eat. It should pass at least one hour before you take the pill. Do not take more than one pill per day. For better results take the pill every day at the same time. Study the prescription label attentively. It is not preferable to chew the tablet because chewing the pill you will enhance the remission of it. Swallow the tablet and then drink a full glass of water. Do not take the pills in big amounts. Take the dosage prescribed by your doctor. In case you can not swallow the tablet, put it on the tablespoon, full of applesauce. The prepared mixture should be swallowed. Do not chew the pill from the applesauce. The applesauce should be swallowed at once, do not leave the applesauce for another time. Do not interrupt the treatment even if you feel better.
Warning/Cautions
Before you begin the treatment tell your doctor if you had diseases of the liver. You must be supervised by your doctor in order to avoid negative effects of the drugs. You must also verify if you are not pregnant because Nexium is the FDA pregnancy category B. These pills can be harmful for your unborn baby. In case you are planning to become a mother you must inform your doctor. It is not recommended to take Nexium, if you are already a breast-feeding mother, because it is not known whether Nexium goes into the milk. If during the period of treatment you appeared to be pregnant, consult your doctor immediately. Do not take Nexium without consultation with the doctor. Grave and sometimes mortal allergic reactions have been found in patients on penicillin treatment. This case may appear if you have allergy on penicillin or you are allergic on other agents. Pseudo membranous colitis has been related with many antibacterial reagents such as clarithromycin and amoxicillin. People with such diagnoses must take antibacterial agents.
In case you forgot to take a pill in time.
If you forgot to take a pill in time, you must take it as soon as you remember. If you see that the time to take next pill is not far, leave out the missed pill and do not forget to take the next one in time. Do not take two pills instead of one!
Possible effects of the pill
If you have any unusual feelings during the period of treatment, stop to take the drug and call your doctor immediately or call the ambulance. Ask for the medical care if you notice such symptoms as: headache, constipation, cough, or diarrhea. Call immediately your doctor if you have pain in your throat, chest, grave stomach pain or coffee-ground vomit. You may have some allergic reactions. The symptoms are: eruptions, scab, tumor, giddiness, difficulty breathing. You may have many other symptoms that were not mentioned above. You should be attentive if you feel any unusual changes in your state of health.
How to keep the pills
You must keep the pills in dry and dark places. The tablets must be stored at controlled room temperature 15 - 30 C (59 - 86 F). Keep the pack closed. Hide the ordered Nexium in inaccessible for children places.
Overdose
The effect of overdose can be harmful. Seek the ambulance. The symptoms of overdose can be: sleepiness, trouble breathing, tremble, problems with coordination and convulsions.
