Aciphex Uses

Aciphex reduces the amount of the acid made in your stomach. Aciphex is used to treat the cankers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or heartburn), and other conditions, including excessive gastric acid production.

How Taken

Aciphex is a peroral short-term drug. It is an enteric-coated tablet, which should be taken orally. Recommended dose for adults is one mg of the tablet Aciphex 20, four times per day, treatment period lasts from 4 to 8 weeks. Take each dose with full glass of water. Do not break, or separate the tablets. Swallow the whole tablet. They are specially developed to dissolve slowly in your body.

Warnings/Precautions

Before taking Aciphex, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: ketoconazole (Nizoral), (Omnipen, Principen), iron (Feosol, Mol-Iron, Fergon, Femiron, other), digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps), or cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral). You cannot take Aciphex, or you may require determining the dosage or special examination during your treating if you take any of medicine mentioned above. There are other medicines except mentioned above that can also interact with Aciphex. Talk with your doctor and pharmacist before taking of any prescription or nonprescription medicine.

Missed Dose

If you miss the dose, use this when you remember. If it is nearly time for your following dose, miss the missed dose and come back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Possible Side Effects

Serious side effects from Aciphex are rare. Cease to take Aciphex and search for casual medical attention if you feel the allergic reaction (the breathing difficulties; hives; the tumor of your lips, throat, language, or body) to Aciphex. The more serious side effects from Aciphex are also unusual. Remain to take Aciphex and talk with your doctor if you feel the headache; the upset stomach or diarrhoea; the insomnia or nervousness; or rash. The Side effects that are not mentioned here can also occur. Talk with your doctor about any side effect, which seems unusual or particularly bothersome.

Storage

Keep Aciphex out of the reach of children. Keep Aciphex in the room temperature (between 59°F and 86°F). Protect Aciphex from moisture.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose are not heard. But search for medical care if you feel worse.

More Information

There are no restrictions in food or activity when taking Aciphex if they are not directed by your doctor, otherwise. Do not cease to take Aciphex even though you begin to feel better. You can feel improvement before your condition will be completely treated
